Cafe du Cyclist has expanded their fashion-forward cycling collection to your feet with two new shoes. The Outlands is aimed at offroad adventures, maybe a bit too pretty for MTB, but, you know, gravel…and the simply named Road Shoes are for asphalt adventures.

Both feature “racing grade” carbon fiber soles for maximum power transfer, and breathable Solestar insoles. Both are unisex design and fit, too.

The Outland has a flexible leather upper with laser-cut perforations. The hiking boot inspired D-ring eyelets and laces pull easily for an even tension across the foot, and they lend a rugged appearance that’s supported by the abrasion protection and gum-colored treads. A stretch lace loop keeps the bow in place when riding.

The inside heel has a one-way slip fabric to make them easy to get on, but prevent upward heel slip during hard efforts.

The custom-designed rubber outsole sits atop a 3K carbon sole and, made with Swiss SUP Traction rubber, they’re grippy for hike-a-bikes and worn-smooth cobbles. Mounts for mud studs/spikes are there if you need them. Claimed weight is $370g (size 43), available in whole sizes from 37 to 47. MSRP is €300.

The Road Shoes get a lighter weight microfiber upper with perforations, also with the abrasion protection coating surrounding the bottom half. The laces here are inspired by classic sneakers, snaking through traditional holes. They get a stiffer UD carbon fiber sole.

The heel cup is lined with the same anti-slip fabric, but the outsole has just two small non-slip bumpers so you can gently walk to and from your bike. Available in 37 to 47, whole sizes only, and only in white, claimed weight is 250g (size 43). MSRP is €290.
