Building on the ultra-quiet, ultra-small TQ 50Nm motors used on their recent Fourstroke AMP LT mountain bike, BMC is giving their endurance Roadmachine the AMP’d treatment, too.

It uses a premium carbon fiber frame and fork with their ICS MTT suspension stem and integrated cockpit, plus wide tire clearance, to create a capable all-road bike with a bit of assist. And for U.S. riders, they’ve boosted output to deliver Class 3 assistance up to 28mph!

The Class 1 global version assists up to 25km/h, both using the TQ HPR50 drive system at the bottom bracket. As on the mountain bikes, it’s virtually silent, and barely visible. The 360Wh battery in the downtube and a 2″ display complete the system, which in total adds just 3.9kg (8lb 10oz) to the bike.

The display is nested into the top tube, showing mode, battery life, and a few other basic metrics that you can cycle through. For more data, mount your GPS cycling computer using the integrated stem-mount option, which can also hold a headlight.

Power delivery is smooth and natural, too. Combined with the lack of motor noise, they say it provides the most normal road bike-like experience possible. And if you didn’t know it was an e-bike, it’d be hard to tell from the looks.

Yes, that looks like a front derailleur mount, but the bikes will come only with 1x drivetrains using Rotor eVegast cranks with SRAM X-Sync chainrings. BMC says, at this time, they can’t comment about 2x compatibility or options.

Like the standard version, the Roadmachine AMP X uses their TCC (Tuned Compliance Concept) to give it a comfortable ride. Up front is their ICS MTT x Redshift tunable suspension stem with integrated cable routing for a completely stealth look that also mutes bumps.

Geometry is relaxed up front, with a bit taller stack height, but short chainstays to keep it nimble. In back is their D-shaped seatpost and flattened stays to reduce vibrations and road chatter.

A new integrated rear light tucks into the back of the seatpost and is powered by the bike’s battery, so it’s always there and won’t die mid-ride.

It rolls on 700×35 tires, and will fit up to 700×38, letting you explore those dirt side roads safely and comfortably. Integrated fender mounts let you make it an all-weather bike.
