You read that right. UK’s own Brompton Bicycle claims that they have launched the “lightest Brompton ebike ever… making it the most compact electric folding bike on the market”.

The Electric P Line titanium rear frame
Brompton Bicycle claims that the Brompton Electric P Line ( the “P” stands for performance) is the lightest ebike they have ever launched. It has a Titanium Advanced Rear Frame, Super light 4-speed gearing, and enhanced portability features which Brompton says makes this bike all about “performance both folded and unfolded”.

This is the first ebike that Brompton says uses their all-new super light 4-speed gearing system. This is a shifting system that is also seen on their T Line and P Line (non-ebike) models and is said to have smooth shifting by simply using a single lever. With the detachable battery pack attached, Brompton says that the Electric P line weighs in at 15.6kg (34.4lbs). “Carry it, lift it, and ride it further.”

Brompton is known for its foldable bikes. And the Electric P Line is no exception to that lineage, making getting around the city, or anywhere fun and easy. The powder-coated finish makes it durable as well. Brompton states that the finish is “powder-coated at the paint facility in the Brompton London Factory using environmentally-friendly powders and energy from 100% renewable sources.”

The Brompton Electric P Line, with its 3 levels of assist, can carry you up to speeds of 25kmh. Brompton says that the smart torque sensor in the bottom bracket helps to make your ride smooth, stable, and efficient.
The electric system, according to Brompton, was custom-made and developed with Williams Advanced Engineering. “The compact 250-kWh hub motor does the hard work for you. The fine-tuned sensor in the bottom bracket knows exactly when to kick in (smoothly).”
On the move…
Brompton says that you go as far as 70km on a single charge and that you charging the battery is as simple as “charging your phone” stating that you can plug it in anywhere… “Just remove the lightweight battery pack, with one quick click and use any regular socket.”

Brompton Bikes says that the Electric P Line can be folded in less than 20 seconds. With the dual locking seatpost, the folded P Line can be steered with the saddle.

Brompton states that the “Brompton-engineered Roller Rack (optional). The 341-gram rack is designed around the center of gravity to minimize the feeling of weight, making your folded bike feel like a super light suitcase.”
The Brompton Electric P Line is available in Storm Grey or Midnight Black, with mid or high handlebars.

The Brompton Electric P Line can be used with the Brompton Electric app. It is said to be available to both iOS and Android users and connects the bike to your phone via Bluetooth. Brompton says that you can mount the “dashboard” to your bars and control your power mode, maximize battery life, extend your range, and more with your phone. They say you can even charge your phone as you ride with the battery pack’s USB port!
Brompton says that “every single electric folding bike is hand-built and quality-assured by our teams in London and Sheffield.” They continue, “each bike is rigorously tested to perform safely and comes with a 7-year registered frame warranty and a 3-year electric system warranty. Brompton Electric owners around the world are supported by a network of Brompton-trained experts.”
