Mersen has introduced a free-access online tool for calculating the specifications of laminated bus bars. The Bus Bar Calculator is intended to support the design of bus bars in a range of different power converters.
The new product relies on a physics solver developed by Gamma Technologies called GT-PowerForge to calculate the electrical, thermal and magnetic specifications of power converters and a frequential Modified Nodal Analysis to produce simulations.
The Bus Bar Calculator can be used for a range of different design projects involving a wide variety of converter topologies, partial discharge test conditions and both SiC and GaN technologies.
It also includes AC and DC voltage in every node and Fourier transform capabilities.
