Now you can export GPX files from Ride With GPS mobile app

Ever gotten to a group ride and needed to share a route with your friends real quick? Sync it with your cycling computer? Or add it to an app like Chasing Watts, but from your phone? Popular route-building service Ride With GPS just made that a lot easier by letting you export the routes directly from the app.

You’ll need a Basic ($60/yr) or Premium ($80/year) Account in order to save a route you create, but once you do, you’ll be able to export it from the app and share via SMS, Airdrop, email, or whatever.

You can also export it directly to your Garmin or Wahoo device, by way of those devices’ companion apps. Just select the app as the export location and RWGPS will send it there, then sync your device via Bluetooth and it’s ready to navigate with turn by turn prompts and all.

Points of Interest and Cues won’t be included in the mobile exports (yet?), but the basics are there, letting you share the route on the spot. And for routes you’ve already created and saved, you’ll need to be within cell service before you can export as it’ll need to download the file from your account.

Presumably you’ll also need cell data service to create a map on the spot, too, but you can even share a map you’re making out in the field. Full details on the update are here, along with links to instructions for uploading routes to various devices.
