Pinarello is taking it ebike game to the next level with a lighter, more neatly-integrated family of Nytro E road ebikes powered by TQ’s latest smooth power ebike drive system. Pinarello even claims that the new Nytro ebike family includes the World’s Lightest mid-drive pedal-assist ebike, with complete weights from just 11.4kg.

Not the first one to make a World’s Lightest eBike claim…

While we’ve seen a number of road ebikes truly break the 11kg barrier with Mahle’s lightweight hub motor, there’s no denying that ebikes in this weight category look almost exactly like regular bikes and feel surprisingly light to ride. Plus, thanks to the excellent smooth power delivery of the TQ-HPR50 powertrain, the Pinarello Nytro E ebike family will likely feel a lot like you are riding a normal bike, only with a really nice tailwind.

Pinarello’s previous Nytro ebike family had been powered by Fazua’s original all-in-one ebike powertrain, and had been limited to gravel, all-road & commuter riding. But now the Nytro E line gets serious as it moves towards more road riding with even more natural pedal-assist.

Pinarello calls them “e-bikes designed without compromise to perform just like traditional road bikes“.

Of course, Pinarello is hyping their design, materials, geometry, and other technical details, but what really makes this road ebike lightweight and natural feeling is the quiet-running, harmonic ping-ring TQ-HPR50 motor. Light at just 1.85kg for the motor, and 3.9kg complete with all the electronics and the 360Wh hidden internal battery, it doesn’t add that much weight over a conventional bike. And the TQ system can put out a max of 300W with a peak 50Nm of torque – making you feel like you have the freshest legs ever on long climbs.

And because you often spend a lot of time on a road e-bike above where the TQ pedal-assist smoothly tapers off at 25km/hr, you can get really long support ranges. Pinarello claims an assist range of 100km on the internal battery, or up to 140km with the bottle battery range extender. But the secret of these lightweight ebikes, and TQ’s system in particular like on the Scott Solace gravel bike, is how easy you can forget there was a motor after you’ve burned through the charge in the battery. Sure, it will feel like going from an ultralight bike to a heavy bike in an instant, but you soon realize that pedaling an 11.4kg bike on your own isn’t so bad.

So the ebike has an infinite range as a bike. Think of it like an escalator turning back into stairs.

Another benefit of the compact TQ motor is its narrow, road-like Q-factor of just 135mm with its 2x road crankset. The whole ebike system is managed by a simple 2” display & single-button controller neatly integrated at the front of the toptube.

Other than the ebike system, the Nytro E features a full carbon aero road frameset with signature Pinarello curves, made from a T900 E9/E9 & T700 E5 UD carbon mix. They feature aero tube shaping, dropped seatstays, aero fork flaps, a wedge-style clamp that appears to be adaptable to round or aero posts, a tapered steerer fork, mounts for 2 bottle cages, fully integrated internal cable routing through its 1.5″ headset, and the ability to run mechanical or electronic 2x groupsets.

Two different Nytro ebike frames have been developed Nytro E-Road & Nytro E-Gravel, each with their own geometry, but both designed to extend how far you can ride.

“The Nytro ROAD is destined to mark a new path. We have kept the responsiveness that characterises our racing frames and merged it with a more comfortable riding position. It’s also the lightest E-Road bike on the market, with an unmistakably iconic Pinarello design. It will help you overcome what you previously thought impossible” and offer you the power to experience the very best of cycling.”

The asymmetric Nytro E-Road gets its own Road Onda fork both with clearance for up to 32mm tires, plus an aero seatpost.

“The Nytro GRAVEL means freedom and discovery, and we’ve created a geometry that’s still exciting on tarmac, but that allows cyclists to explore off-road and enjoy long-distance rides. It means taking your adventure further, knowing whatever the road throws up, the Nytro will always have the power to not only support, but also excite, too. With both bikes, the goal was clear: Extend the experience of riding a Pinarello and allow people to ride longer, further and climb higher. And thanks to the six different sizes it is easy to find the perfect bike for you.”

Also asymmetric, the Nytro E-Gravel and E-Allroad builds get their own Gravel Onda fork and bigger tire clearance, up to 700 x 50mm. The gravel ebike also shifts more towards comfort & versatility with a round seatpost, and the addition of rear rack mounts and tabs for full-coverage fenders.
