Snow Lake Resources—doing business as Snow Lake Lithium—has signed a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with LG Energy Solution (LGES) to collaborate on a lithium supply chain for the EV market in North America.
As part of the MOU, Snow Lake Lithium plans to supply lithium to LGES from 2025 to 2035 from its Snow Lake site in Canada’s Manitoba province.
“Our wholly owned Thompson Brothers Lithium Project now covers a 55,318-acre site that has only been 1% explored and contains an identified-to-date 11.1 million metric tons indicated and inferred resource at 1% Li2O,” says Snow Lake Lithium.
The companies are planning to collaborate on a lithium hydroxide processing plant located in Manitoba’s CentrePort. Snow Lake Lithium says it expects the plant to produce 160,000 tons of 6% lithium spodumene per year, and to be operated by nearly 100% hydroelectric power.
Snow Lake is evaluating and drilling on the site, and has begun a study of the technologies, innovations and skills necessary to establish the plant.
