Ford’s new E-Transit electric van began production in March. Now the company’s commercial vehicle division, Ford Pro, has revealed a few details of the upcoming E-Transit Custom.

The E-Transit Custom is expected to have a range of up to 380 km. It features DC fast charging, towing capability and “sophisticated connectivity.” ProPower Onboard technology provides exportable power for tools, lights and other devices.

Ford Pro will support customers with software, charging, service and financing solutions.

The E-Transit Custom will be built by Ford Otosan, Ford’s joint venture in Turkey, at its Kocaeli site, and is expected to enter production for the European market in the second half of 2023. We’ve heard nothing yet about a US launch, but Ford says it will release more product details this September.

Earlier this year, Ford announced that by 2024, three more new EVs will join the Transit family, including the Transit Courier van and the Tourneo Custom and Tourneo Courier people-movers.

“This is a watershed moment for commercial vehicle operators in Europe,” said Hans Schep, General Manager, Ford Pro, Europe. “Europe’s best-selling van just went all-electric and—supported by our unique Ford Pro one-stop-shop of productivity-boosting services—the operating benefits this will bring to business across Europe cannot be overstated.”
