Cane Creek’s back with eeBrakes — and this time, anyone who wants a set will have to act “faster than lightspeed,” the brand said.

That’s because it’s releasing a new fleet of limited color combinations each day this week. How limited is limited? Try “five or fewer” sets available in each release.

Called the “Collector’s Edition,” it’s one of the strongest exclusivity plays I’ve seen from a component maker. Today’s anodized edition of the rim brakes combines burnt orange with colors like Sulley’s purple-and-aquamarine coat from Monsters Inc. — and it sold out while I was writing this.

Adherents know eeBrakes for their lightweight, limited-edition color tradition, and primo componentry. In regular mount, they weigh a claimed 85.3 grams (front) and 83.7 grams (rear) — or 78.4 g and 78.2 g (direct mount). The brakes fit rims from 19-28mm, and reach 39mm-49mm. Toolless caliper centering, titanium barrel adjusters, and center-aligned cabling are also on board, as usual.

The North Carolina component shop will release one more hyper-limited eeBrake rollout each day this week at 12 p.m. ET. The first set, the “Lunae,” fetched $780.

Set a notification and get your touchpad finger ready — you’ll need an adroit touch to secure a set of these bad boys.
