Let’s learn about another eBike, shall we? This one comes from the affordable eBike purveyor Ride1Up (not that 1Up), which was founded in 2018 with the hopeful mission of getting more people on value-packed eBikes. Their new model, the Turris, seems to be in line with that kind of thinking.
The Turris looks like a well-equipped eBike that Ride1Up says combines both commuting and touring styles, but with enough bosses for one water bottle, and a single rear rack…without any added accessories, I would say that commuting would be more its forte.
That being said, you can bundle one or all of the available accessories when purchasing the Turris, like a front rack, rear rack, and front basket to pop into the light-turning or “grocery-getter” category.
Ride1Up considers the new $1295 Turris to be a “starter eBike” with a value-added spec. With a Shimano rear derailleur, shifters and cassette, a KMC Chain, hydraulic brakes, a front light, Kenda tires, aluminum fenders, a 750w motor, and a 100mm suspension fork, you’re getting a lot of bike for buck.
Turris Measurement/Size Guide
It uses upright geometry and components to help to keep the rider comfortable and in control. The Turris comes with either a step-over “XR” or step-through “ST” alloy frame, both with internally protected and locked electronics.
The Turrisis has a range of 25-45 miles depending on rider weight, terrain, incline, and level of assist. It’s powered by a 750w geared hub motor that delivers 60Nm of torque. It’s a class 3 eBike that can reach pedal-assisted speeds of 28mph, and 20mph with the throttle. It also sports a 48v 12.8Ah battery.
