Charged EVs | Leapers Semiconductor to introduce new SiC power module series

[ad_1]

Leapers Semiconductor plans to introduce its HPD series SiC power modules for the traction inverters and motors of EVs at PCIM Europe in May of 2022.

Leapers Semiconductor is a China-based company that develops and manufactures semiconductors and modules. It also has an R&D center located in Japan.

The HPD series consists of 1,200 V, three-phase and water-cooled SiC MOSFET power modules. According to Leapers, it uses a patented Arcbonding chip surface connecting technology that ensures reliability, improves power cycling and reduces static losses. Leapers says its module has “20-30% higher power density than the modules from major competitors.”

The company also says that engineers incorporating them into their EV products can expect increased power efficiency and increased battery utilization efficiency.

For EV performance, Leapers says the power modules provide longer driving range, faster charging times and lower total system cost.
