Connector and sensor company TE Connectivity has launched a new automotive connector that combines signal, power and data connectivity into a single connector. It’s designed for applications in which low-voltage power, signal and data connectors for cameras, displays, antenna connections and sensors are running alongside each other.

The Generation Y 68P Sealed Hybrid Inline Connector combines a MATE-AX mini coaxial connector with 0.64, 1.5 and 2.8 mm contacts and signal circuits.

“Often data connectors are found running alongside low-voltage signal and power connectors, creating a complex harness, which leads to higher costs, additional weight, more space and complicated manufacturing,” said TE Connectivity Product Manager Kevin Presnell. “The Generation Y 68P Sealed Hybrid Inline Connector is a compact and reliable solution that supports the ongoing industry challenges faced by OEMs, and can positively and cost-effectively impact the supply chain.”
